Dalek action in your own living room! Definitely not just for kids…

Remember Christmas 2005 when every kid wanted a Dalek for Christmas and Character Options, caught on the hop by the surprise success of Doctor Who, struggled to get them into the shops? Things have changed since those days, and with Dalekmania showing no signs of abating, the latest version arrives in the shops - this time in very good time for Christmas.

The distinctive red Supreme Dalek from The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End seems bigger than the previous 12-inch remote control Dalek due to the metal clamps around the top section. The control system has changed little since the original release, so practice is required to successfully manoeuvre your Dalek without chipping the skirting boards or displacing his plunger.

The speech is controlled via the remote with a choice of phrases. “Daleks are masters of Earth!” unfortunately sounds like something slightly ruder the first time you hear it, and the raspy, extra-evil sounding collection of dialogue samples is marred only by the horribly squeaky “Exterminate!” exclamation.
