Starring Lindsay Lohan, Julia Ormond, Neal McDonough
Released 28 January 2008
A rich college student, at the top of her class, is kidnapped and tortured. When her body is recovered her right arm and leg are missing and she claims to be someone else entirely…
Lindsay Lohan obviously never took career lessons from Showgirls starlet Elizabeth Berkley. If she had then she would have known that playing a stripper is not always the best way to shed your image as a goodie-two shoes “teen queen”.
Here Lohan indulges in two strip scenes (albeit without any nudity) and a sex sequence too (where she somehow manages to keep her top on) but the overall feeling is that she was much better served by fluff like Mean Girls. The perma-tanned actress preens and panics her way through this torture-porn hybrid but never really convinces. Part of this no doubt has to do with a lousy script – whereupon Lohan is expected to portray two vastly different characters and bask in some of the dumbest plot twists this side of that other amputee favourite Boxing Helena.
Extras include bloopers, alternate ending and an extended strip scene (whereupon Lohan still gyrates around clothed – making her probably the worst pole dancer in history). Calum Waddell
VERDICT: 3/10
When Lohan thinks back about what killed her career it will be this turkey.
