The cast and crew of a Survivor-type reality show choose an unfortunate setting for filming - a backwoods area inhabited by a family of inbred cannibals…

Wrong Turn 2: Dead End is a fairly respectable entry into The Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Hills Have Eyes school of horror. Not only does it have the requisite grungy visuals, creative kills and general icky weirdness of the sub-genre, but writers Turi Meyer and Al Septien actually manage to confound expectations, with unexpected characters relegated to early death scenes.

Director Joe Lynch sets a good pace, and shows a steady hand with his cast, which is led by a suitably gritty Henry Rollins. The disc includes two different commentary tracks and featurettes on the making the film, the gore and the location. Abbie Bernstein

VERDICT: 7/10
If this subgenre is your thing, Wrong Turn 2 is a pretty good example of the breed.
