Kevin Costner has been confirmed in the role of Jonathan Kent in Zack Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel, reports Deadline.

The actor was linked to the project last month, but only now do we know who he’ll be playing. Diane Lane will play his wife, Martha Kent, and Henry Cavill will star as the Man of Steel himself.

After a few years in the wilderness, Costner has returned to our screens in recent years with such dramas as Swing Vote, The Company Men and The New Daughter. However, this will be the most high profile role for the star since his 1990s heyday.
