Teri Hatcher will star in the final season of Smallville, playing the role of Lois Lane’s mother, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The actress, who played Lois Lane in the ‘90s television series, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, will star in episode eight of Smallville’s tenth season, entitled ‘Abandoned’.

Although Lois’s mother is dead in Smallville continuity, Lois stumbles upon a number of videotapes containing old footage of her mother.

Smallville’s final season airs in the US on September 24 on The CW. UK viewers can watch season nine on Tuesdays at 9pm on E4.
