Smallville villains Lionel Luthor and Greg Arkin will return to the show in the final season, reports Entertainment Weekly.

John Glover will return for at least two episodes for the show’s tenth season to reprise his role as Lionel Luthor, the father to Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor. Luthor Sr left the superhero drama series in season seven, when he plunged to his death after his son pushed him out of a window. His new episodes will air in November.

Greg Arkin was a villain in the second episode of the show, Metamorphosis. He fought Clark Kent after he was transformed into a human/insect hybrid. It is unknown whether the original actor, Chad Donella, will portray the character again in the forthcoming episode, which is set to be the 200th episode of Smallville.

Other characters already confirmed to return to the show include Clark’s father, Jonathan Kent (John Schneider), his Kryptonian cousin Kara/Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort) and Brainiac (James Marsters).

While rumours have circulated about Michael Rosenbaum’s return to the show to reprise his role as Luthor Jr, it is currently unknown if the actor will appear.

Smallville season 10 debuts in the US on The CW on September 24. Season 9 of Smallville is currently airing in the UK on E4, Tuesdays at 9pm.
