V actress Laura Vandervoort will return to Smallville for the show’s 10th and final season, confirms The Hollywood Reporter.

Vandervoort will reprise her role as Clark Kent’s cousin Kara in the superhero drama series, in an episode tentatively scheduled to air in October.

Vandervoort left the show at the end of season seven after being imprisoned in Kryptonian prison the Phantom Zone by the villain Brainiac. She returned in season eight for one episode to wrap up Supergirl’s storyline.

Vandervoort is the second major Smallville star to make a comeback in the final season. It was previously announced that John Schneider , who played Clark’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent for five seasons, will also return for at least one other episode during the show’s final year.

Season nine of Smallville is currently airing Tuesdays at 9pm on E4. The final season debuts on The CW on September 24 in the US.
