Speaking on his show last night, Jimmy Kimmel announced that the highly-anticipated series finale of Lost has been extended to two-and-a-half hours.

Lost star Jorge Garcia, who plays Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes in the ABC drama, was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when Kimmel himself made the official statement.

"[It's] a special two-and-a-half hour finale of the show," he told the audience. "That's a big announcement."

The series finale of Lost will now air on May 23rd, from 9pm to 11.30pm on ABC in the USA, followed by a Jimmy Kimmel special featuring the cast of Lost. It will air in the UK on Sky1 shortly after.
