Fox and BBC Worldwide have reached an agreement not to pursue their plans to make a US version of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood. However, the BBC are keen to point out that the plan for Torchwood going Stateside is still “very much alive”, just not at Fox.

BBC Worldwide released a statement saying, “BBC Worldwide Productions and the Fox Broadcasting Company have mutually agreed not to progress together with a 13-episode serialised Torchwood format. We are currently in discussion with several interested networks.”

BBC Worldwide executive vice president of programming and production, Jane Tranter also said that the BBC won’t be looking to make an American version of Doctor Who. "It may well be confusing to have a British Doctor and an American Doctor at the same time. There is only one Doctor, so I don't see that happening," she said.
