James Callis's new character on FlashForward will be key to the explanation of the event, according to series star Sonya Walger.

The former Battlestar Galactica star will be playing Gabriel McDow, described as a quirky scientist who comes looking for help from Walger's character, Olivia Benford. According to Walger, McDow "becomes a big part of unlocking what happened, both in global terms and in terms of Olivia," after she discovers that he has experienced multiple flashforwards.

Executive producer Jessika Borsiczky told Zap2It.com, "I don't want to give too much away about what he plays, but he has some information about the blackouts that no one else on the show has, and he gets really involved with Olivia and [Jack Davenport's character] Lloyd."

FlashForward returns on March 18th on ABC, and March 22nd on Five in the UK.
