The Walt Disney Co. is fast tracking a sequel to its 2007 hit Enchanted, hoping to have it in cinemas before the end of 2011.
The original film starring Amy Adams, James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey and Susan Sarandon was Disney's first live action/animation hybrid since 1988's Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Step Up and The Proposal's Anne Fletcher is attached to direct the sequel, which Variety says fits perfectly with Disney's plans to make more movies that define the studio's brand.
The Story of Us and Stepmom's Jessie Nelson has been hired to pen the script, which is expected to see Adams' character Princess Giselle return from New York to the animated world of Andalasia.
