Following the global success of Avatar, Warner Bros. have confirmed longstanding rumours that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released in 3D.
Part I of the final Potter story will be one of four releases converted to the new format, with Clash of the Titans, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore and Guardians of Ga'Hoole also benefitting from the new process. The studio wouldn't confirm if the second part of the Potter film would also be 3D.
Warner Bros. President Dan Fellman noted that "We are confident in the constantly evolving 3D technology, and the results for Clash of the Titans will be presented onscreen with the highest-quality images available today."
Paramount Pictures have been discussing the possibility of filming the third Transformers movie in 3D with director Michael Bay, but Variety notes that the time constraints set by the announced release date may mean it's easy to convert it after shooting.
