Doctor Who and Torchwood's Phil Ford is staying within the SF genre for his next project, a 13-episode sci-fi gameshow for the BBC entitled Mission: 2110.

Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, the CBBC show sees contestants "span time and space to travel to the futuristic setting of our planet to try to restore peace and stability", according to the official BBC release.

Executive producer Sue Morgan described the show as "exciting, ambitious and challenging... the contestants will need to use all their cunning and guile to avoid elimination."

As well as co-writing The Waters of Mars with Russell T Davies and penning the animated adventure Dreamland (pictured) for Doctor Who, Ford contributed Something Borrowed to Torchwood's second season. He has also written nearly half of The Sarah Jane Adventures and was the main writer on Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet.
