Concerned over the recent further decline in ratings, Heroes star Masi Oka has told TV Guide that he hopes the show will get a "proper ending" rather than just being axed.
Monday 18th January's new episode only garnered 3.93 million viewers, a new low for the series which during its first season was gaining an average of 14.9 million. Oka said that he had not yet heard whether the show had been renewed. "Everyone agrees the show does deserve a proper ending, just because we want to pay homage to fans who have stuck with us from the beginning," he said.
"Nothing is 100% guaranteed in television," he continued. "Maybe they get amazing pilots. Hopefully it won't be like The X-Files where we need a movie to wrap things up. My hope is to have a finite end date, like Lost, or they give the writers the chance to wrap up everything and know they're going to be done."
