Over 30 years after the publication of the original book, Stephen King is working on a sequel to his epic horror novel, The Shining.

During an interview with David Cronenberg at Toronto's Canon Theatre on November 24th, King confirmed that he has decided to examine the aftermath of Jack Torrance's descent into madness at the Overlook Hotel.

The book, currently entitled Doctor Sleep, is set 40 years later, and discovers what happened to Torrance's son Danny, his wife Wendy and the chef Dick Halloran, the only survivors of the Overlook. Danny is now an orderly at a hospice, and helps people pass over to the other side using his psychic powers.

King admitted that he hasn't fully committed to the project yet, adding "Maybe if I keep talking about it, I won't have to write it."
