Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis regular Amanda Tapping will be reprising her role as Colonel Samantha Carter for the final two episodes of Stargate Universe's first season.

Tapping was last seen in the opening episodes, and was delighted to be asked to return. "I started their season and I'm ending their season, which was very cool," she told The Huffington Post.

However her scenes have been on board her ship, the General George Hammond, so she hasn't yet had any scenes interacting with the main cast. "If they were ever to have me come back, I'd want to be with people," she explained. "I'm kind of off on my ship, which I think is awesome."

Tapping's former Stargate SG-1 colleague Richard Dean Anderson has made multiple appearances in the new iteration of the franchise.
