Charmed's Alyssa Milano is going to be the ordinary mortal caught up in the Ghostbusters' battles in their new action videogame.

In Ghostbusters: The Video Game, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, the original cast members will reprise their roles, although Sigourney Weaver elected not to return as Dana Barrett, the focal point of the two big screen movies.

Milano will play Dr Ilyssa Selwyn, the guest curator of a World of Gozer exhibit at the Natural History Museum. "Obviously, fans of the movie are going to miss Sigourney Weaver," she said. "I have so much respect for that character in the movie that I hope I do the position that she is in justice. I was just flattered to be asked to be part of Ghostbusters."

The game will be released on 16 June 2009.
