Stars from all generations of the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises have been cast in Quantum Quest, a 3-D animated film being made in conjunction with NASA.
The $10 million picture will take the audience on a tour of the outer planets and moons of our solar system, as they follow the adventures of Dave (played by new Captain Kirk Chris Pine); a photon living in the sun caught in the galactic battle between the Core, voiced by the original Jim Kirk William Shatner; and the Void, brought to life by Star Wars' Mark Hamill.
James Earl Jones and Hayden Christensen, who both voiced Darth Vader, are adding their talents to the mix, while Samuel L. Jackson and original moon walker Neil Armstrong also feature.
Quantum Quest will appear first in IMAX and then in conventional cinemas in late 2009.
