Joss Whedon's latest project for Fox television has hit another stumbling block with the producer asking for a shooting break until September 25th.

According to reports in Variety, Whedon requested the break because he agreed with the studio and the network that the fourth episode of the drama needed further work on the script. Whedon has been busy directing two of the first three episodes, which has meant that he hasn't spent as much time focusing on the writers’ room.

Dollhouse isn't due to air until January, so the hiatus shouldn't affect the broadcast schedule. However, this is the second major change to the series: after receiving feedback from colleagues, Whedon decided to write and shoot a new pilot for the show to clarify the set up.
