Transformers and Star Trek co-writer Roberto Orci has revealed that fan favourites Soundwave and Ravage will appear in the second Transformers film, which is set to start shooting at the beginning of June.

In an interview with IGN.com, Orci noted that "the second one will deliver on a true Transformers story." Following the success of the first film, "we have a little more freedom this time to actually learn about the Transformers, see them, hear them. It's a better balance between the humans and the Transformers."

Orci also commented that he and fellow scribe Alex Kurtzman "had to get Soundwave in there... We had Ravage in an early draft of the first movie and Soundwave, and we couldn't do it right and I think this time hopefully we'll have the ability to do it."
