Highlander star Adrian Paul and Star Wars’ Temuera Morrison will battle in Sci Fi Channel’s new fantasy-led tale of the Elizabethan sea captain Sir Francis Drake.

Captain Drake sees Paul on a quest to find the legendary Tree of Life to save the life of his daughter. Along the way, he battles the Spanish Armada and encounters sea monsters, a mystical Persian sorceress and the legendary Norse God-creature, the Nidhogg.

Morrison will play Sandovate, a real-life Spanish pirate who travelled from Spain to the New World in search of treasure. Charmed’s Wes Ramsey will play Drake’s first mate, Peter.

The TV movie is shooting in the Black Sea and Eastern Europe and will debut on the Sci Fi Channel in late 2008.
