The results are in! Yes, the votes have been counted, and we can now reveal your top movies, TV shows and performers of 2010.
Without further waffle, here are the results…
BEST SCI-FI FILM
Inception
Surely no one is surprised by this result? Christopher Nolan’s SF thriller is complex, original, visually stunning and boasts a first-rate soundtrack – the year’s most interesting blockbuster by far.

BEST FANTASY FILM
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
It seems that Potter fever remains as strong as ever, and the penultimate movie features plenty of dark new plot turns and impressive, effects-filled action…

BEST HORROR FILM
The Last Exorcism
The success of Daniel Stamm’s crowd-pleasing horror proves that shaky-cam filmmaking is far from dead. The film’s success is largely down to Patrick Fabian’s charming performance as charlatan preacher Cotton Marcus.

BEST ANIMATED FILM
Toy Story 3
Somehow Pixar have done it again! The third instalment might just be their greatest work yet, and boasts more character depth, laughs and staggering set pieces than most of 2010’s ‘grown-up’ movies combined.

BEST NOVEL
The Passage
Justin Cronin’s supernatural saga may be long (and this is just the first volume), but it’s a gripping read that largely steers clear of genre clichés.

BEST TV SHOW
Supernatural
For the second year running, the ongoing adventures of the Winchester brothers nabs this award. ‘Weekend at Bobby’s’ was our personal highlight of the sixth season.

BEST COMIC
Nemesis
The story of the titular supervillain, written by Mark Millar and drawn by Steve McNiven, has been one of the year’s most hyped titles and, after a so-so first issue, it has provided plenty of slick, intriguing thrills.

BEST ACTOR
Leonardo DiCaprio
The actor has given titanic performances in two of this year’s big movies – Inception and Shutter Island – and he brought a mournful, brooding quality to both roles.

BEST ACTRESS
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart has gone from strength to strength over the course of the three Twilight movies, and in New Moon she delivered an angsty but believable turn as the gal torn between a hunky vampire and a hunky werewolf.

BEST DIRECTOR
Christopher Nolan
Is Christopher Nolan capable of making a bad movie? We’re not sure, but this year’s Inception was arguably his best work to date. Like you, we can’t wait for The Dark Knight Rises…
