New British chiller Wake Wood comes from the legendary horror studio Hammer, and this deeply unsettling movie, out now on DVD, is as good as a classic Hammer Horror.
A mix of The Wicker Man, Don’t Look Now and Pet Semetary, the film sees a couple (The Wire’s Aidan Gillen and The Children’s Eva Birthistle) attempt to get over the loss of their daughter by moving to the titular remote Irish village. Then they discover that the locals practice a pagan ritual that allows them to bring a dead person back to life for three days…
Also starring Timothy Spall, David Keating’s atmospheric is well worth catching.
We’ve got 3 copies of the DVD up for grabs. To be in with a chance of winning, just take a look at the following question?
What was the title of the 1988 horror movie in which Timothy Spall played a character named Peck?
